Parenthood is wild and wonderful - messy, exhausting, hilarious, and completely life‑changing.
My own pregnancy and birth experiences were all completely different. I never enjoyed being pregnant - it was filled with nausea and huge anxieties - but I made it through. My labours and births were varied and colourful, just like my three children.
I went to baby classes with each of them. When Lola was tiny, those classes helped me realise I was muddling through just fine, and they got me out of the house to meet other sleep‑deprived mums. When Josh and Max arrived, I discovered something else: attending a class gave me precious, uninterrupted one‑to‑one bonding time with each of them.
Through my role as a midwife, I have been extremely lucky to be present at the births of hundreds of babies. Bearing witness to those first moments, the strength, vulnerability, intensity and joy that can fill a birth room, has shaped me both personally and professionally. Supporting families through pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period is a privilege I never take for granted.
In 2018, my passion for guiding and empowering parents led me to complete further training in antenatal education and baby classes. It allowed me to combine my clinical experience with my love of teaching, creating a sense of continuity where families can learn, feel supported, and grow in confidence. Alongside my group courses and workshops, I offer private antenatal sessions for families who prefer personalised, one‑to‑one support.
I also teach hypnobirthing, blending evidence‑based education with practical tools to help you feel calmer and more confident throughout pregnancy and birth. For parents wishing to reflect on a previous experience, my birth‑listening service provides a gentle, supportive space to talk things through. It’s work I truly enjoy every single minute of.
The Mummas Village is founded on the principles of knowledge, informed choice, realistic expectations and non‑judgemental support. I look forward to welcoming you and helping you build your own village of connection and confidence.

I feel incredibly lucky that I've always known I wanted to be a midwife. Supporting women through pregnancy and birth has been the driving force behind my career for more than 27 years.
I initially trained as a nurse before completing my midwifery degree and, since then, I’ve worked across all areas of midwifery in both the UK and Australia. I’ve particularly loved being in the community, visiting women and their families at home, triaging women with pregnancy concerns on the labour ward, and more recently, guiding women through planned inductions of labour.
I’ve supported more than a thousand women through every kind of birth, and every single one has been memorable and joyful in its own way. What I enjoy most is getting to know expectant parents, hearing about their experience of pregnancy and understanding their hopes for birth. As a mum of two myself, fortunate enough to have had water births, I understand the reassurance and comfort of having a birth plan in place. And as a midwife, I also know how important it is to understand your options if things take an unexpected turn.
That’s why I’m so passionate about excellent antenatal education. Feeling informed and prepared can give you and your partner greater confidence to make the choices that are right for you, however your birth unfolds. And preparation doesn’t stop at birth: understanding a little more about feeding and sleep in the early weeks with your baby can make the transition to parenthood feel less daunting.
At The Mummas Village, we believe that knowledge is power. Our approach is based on informed choice, realistic expectations and support without judgement. I’m looking forward to welcoming you to our classes, sharing everything I’ve learnt over nearly three decades as a midwife, and helping you find your own village of support and friendship.
