Follow Steph
After the birth of my second child my return to the corporate world was uncomfortable and unsustainable alongside a happy family and work balance. In 2015 I retrained as an antenatal and postnatal educator and in 2019 trained in hypnobirthing. I was shortlisted as Best Antenatal Teacher at the Mama Conference 2019.
I had two amazingly positive births with my children. My first was a beautiful calm water birth and my second was a trickier, more interventionist birth that still ended positively. Both experiences have shaped how I teach and the importance I place on preparation, knowledge and flexibility, because birth rarely goes exactly to plan and that is okay.
I believe that the best antenatal education gives you the tools to feel informed and confident whatever happens on the day, and that is what I bring to every course I teach.
Alongside antenatal education I run baby and toddler classes in Guildford and Cranleigh and I absolutely love seeing families grow from the first tentative weeks with a newborn right through to the chaos and joy of the toddler years. The community that builds in these classes is something really special, and I am proud to be part of it week after week.
The Mummas Village was built on the belief that parents deserve honest, evidence-based support without judgement, and that is something I feel as passionately about now as I did when we started.
