I have been teaching my classes now for nearly 9 years and I am more passionate than ever about providing support to parents beginning and expanding their families!
I feel incredibly honoured to have welcomed so many families to my classes over the years and often welcome them back with subsequent babies! It means I regularly get families that are in class with me for many years! That is incredibly special and getting to know families and see bumps turn to babies that turn to toddlers and school aged children! It really is beautiful.
My outlook on Motherhood is that it is not all sunshine and rainbows, it can be incredibly hard, overwhelming and utterly exhausting. I try to normalise that in my classes whilst having fun at the same time. If you are having a hard day – it is ok and those are the days that coming to class can make a huge difference.
I absolutely pride myself on creating a welcoming environment and a safe space for all. It is not just about teaching the class, it’s about making you comfortable, holding a baby so you can pee, helping with hands that are full, being a familiar face and a shoulder to cry on when needed – I will always ask you how you REALLY are.
My own experiences of Motherhood reflect back at me all the time when I am at work and that is a hugely rewarding place to be. I am a massive advocate for positive Caesarean birth, having had two myself. My planned Caesarean birth with my daughter was a beautiful experience and I love to talk about it and break some of the stigma that never seems to go away with regards to how women birth their babies!
In my classes you can expect me to be a bit silly sometimes, have a laugh, not take things too seriously and I might mention Harry Styles now and again!
The Mummas Village community is really special and I am so proud to be a part of it.
